IMO is one of the main suppliers of Olympus biological and industrial microscopes. Our major products are CX31 , CX41, SZ2 microscopes and our major clients include Olympus Corporation(Japan), Masuda Company Ltd., Uehira Company Ltd., and Kyuzu Company Ltd.
IMO is an ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System certified company since 2001 conducted by TUV SUD Philippines Inc. We are also compliant to the American Electrical Safety Standard as certified by the Underwriter’s Laboratories Inc.(UL).
The Company houses a complete processing line for the manufacture of High powered microscope — from Machining process , Painting up to final product assembly. We have one of the biggest and sophisticated machining facilities in Cebu equipped with modern CNC Machining Centers, Turning Centers, Automatic bar feeder machines (Swiss type) and Conventional machines such Press machines, Milling, Shearing, Lathe and Annealing Ovens.
Our Painting process consist of Chromate Conversion Coating (CRO), Spray Painting and Printing process. We are the only company in the Philippines who has the capability of Cerami Painting.
Our Assembly process is a fully controlled environment. Capable of bonding optical lenses, lead free soldering, assembly from subparts to final product and packaging.
Incoming inspection, in-process QC and 100% outgoing inspections are in place to ensure adherence to high international quality standards with the use of Modern Precise Measuring Equipments.
From a work force of less than 100 workers, today, IMO employs close to 300 Filipino employees who work under the tutelage of Japanese technical managers. Skilled operators are regularly sent to mother companies in Japan for skills and cultural training to supplement the in-house trainings regularly conducted in IMO.
The Company runs a computer-based resource planning system, the Ina Plant Manufacturing System (IPMS), to plan and control its production planning schedules that runs parallel with its major contractors/buyers to ensure synchronized planning. Lead time Reduction Program is actively pursued for a more efficient inventory management.
Believing that 5S is the basic foundation of any improvement activities, IMO is a strong advocate of the 5S and Kaizen programs. It gives monthly recognition to best Kaizen practices.
